Advice & Support
We hope you find the information on this web site helpful. Please remember however that F.A.C.T. is a voluntary organisation and does not claim to be expert in legal matters. We are not lawyers and we do not provide legal advice.
Essentially F.A.C.T. provides information such as briefings, factsheets, and various publications including a bi-monthly newsletter. We also provide personal suuport to those who have been falsely accused or worongly convicted of abuse. We do this in accordance with our advice and representation policy, via a telephone helpline, through our publications and newsletter, and via this web site.
Throughout this web site there are various sections designed to answer many of the queries we receive. If you have a particular issue which causes you concern use the serach facility on this web-and visit the lets talk page.
We also operate a support programme for innocent carers and teachers in prison, and their families and act as a signpost to other resources.
We are always happy to respond to requests for advice and assistance no matter how minor or serious the allegation is. Priority is always given to F.A.C.T. members. It costs very little to join FACT, and membership is free to those who are, or have been, in prison as a result of a false allegation.
Many of those who contact us for support have not been subject to police investigation, and some may have been interviewed by the police and released without charge. Many will have been suspended by their employers and need help in understanding what this involves, and how this might affect them in the future.
F.A.C.T. also support individuals (and their families) throughout any court appearances and will provide support during ‘appeals’. Where appropriate we try and maintain public interest in those cases where the person has been wrongly convicted, and offer support to those who have completed their sentences.
