Headteacher Kills Himself

A head teacher of a small private school in Luton has been found dead.
 
Alan Compton ran the £4,000 a year  Broadmead School in Tennyson Road, Luton, which caters for eighty pupils. His body was found at Hemsby near Great Yarmouth. 

The news comes after police distributed a letter to parents saying they are investigating an allegation made against him.  Bedfordshire Police have not disclosed the nature of the allegation.

A spokeswoman for the force said: “Our sympathies are with the family of this gentleman at this time and we are seeking to provide appropriate support.”
